Groups of 10 or more typically need to book separately from the general public at many major attractions — the Colosseum, Vatican Museums and Galleria Borghese all have specific group booking processes, often with a dedicated entrance and different pricing.
Where to stay
A single apartment or villa can be better value than multiple hotel rooms for groups of 6 or more — Trastevere and the historic center have several multi-room properties suited to groups, though they book far ahead for peak season.
Restaurants
A group of 8 or more will typically need a reservation and sometimes a set menu — call ahead rather than emailing, and confirm the day before. Testaccio's trattorias are well-set-up for groups and used to larger tables.
