Live music in Rome

Jazz cellars, classical concerts and outdoor summer stages.

Jazz

Rome has a genuine jazz scene centred on a handful of basement clubs that have been running since the 1970s — venues in Trastevere and around Testaccio host regular sessions, typically from Thursday through Saturday.

Classical

The Auditorium Parco della Musica, designed by Renzo Piano in the Flaminio district, is the main concert venue for the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Church concerts — often free or low-cost — run year-round in venues like Sant'Agnese in Agone on Piazza Navona.

Summer outdoor concerts

Estate Romana brings outdoor concerts and opera performances to venues across the city from June through September, including occasional events at Caracalla and the Circus Maximus.
